Camp Bed-Stuy provides appropriate activities for our different age groups so that all students can participate at a level at a suitable level.
The programs, activities and excursions offered at Camp Bed-Stuy are designed to form a fun and challenging experience for our campers.
Some of the activities are designed to enable students to step out of their comfort zones while others challenge students to solve problems and work with others to achieve tasks.
At the end of the season we all join together and present what we learnt!
We participate in rock climbing at Central Park, which has varying levels, our instructor ensures that all campers make good progress and gain confidence in the safest conditions. Campers will learn different skills and progress from one age group to another.
Zip Line + Ropes Course
Our campers will go with their counselors to the rope course at Adventure Park on Long Island. It’s always an exciting day. This activity is a high forest adventure of rope bridges, tarzan swings and zip-lines, all set high up in the tree tops. Campers will be fitted by professional experts with a climbing harness and supervised during the whole time of this activity.
Just next Prospect Park Tennis Center, Kensington Stables allow campers to experience riding or practice* this activity with professional riding instructors.
In addition to our Painting On Canvas and Gallery Experiences, our campers can choose between several arts activities, which they will attend during each session. We will do vast amounts of different aspects of arts and crafts. Each time a child attends those activities we will give them a chance to expand their artistic side. The main aim of those clubs is to give a new and fun aspect to The Arts s while involving environmental and cultural aspects.
Our professional golf instructors will coach players of all levels during our sports day or during group lessons.
We propose all kinds of different ball sports: tennis, golf, mini golf, football, volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball (streetball), table tennis, squash, badminton, pétanque.
Campers participate in New York City Parks Foundation summer tennis group lessons and clinics weekly at Fort Greene Park and Prospect Park Tennis Center. Parent are required to register camper for small group lessons directly with New York City Parks Foundation. Please contact us for online link.
Campers will visit Bear Mountain trails with our trained counselors; parents are welcomed to join on this long distance trip to the heart of nature. Each skill and camp age level is welcome to go hiking. Campers will discover colorful and impressive landscapes, massive water dams, natural mountain lakes, wild forests, and nature reserves. Campers will get a glimpse at Bear Mountain Wildlife.
With Kayaks and Paddle Boats at Lakeside our campers experience boating in Prospect Park Lake. Campers also participate swimming at our private pool in addition to water play at Prospect Park Water Pad and Brooklyn Bridge Water Park.
Circle time at our camp morning rallies, board games, music instruments, drama, campfires, picnic, bbq, boat trips, disco, talent show, photography, glass making robotics, and long distance excursions to PA, DC and The Hamptons.
Campers work with counselors individually or in small groups on a daily basis to reinforce reading, computer literacy, and problem-solving skills.
